![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In 1935 the Australian subsidiary of General Motors’, Holden, came out with a Chevrolet coupe utility as well. While the body style of the El Camino didn’t make its debut on the North American market until 1957 with the Ford Ranchero, the first company to actually build a coupe utility was Ford Australia back in 1934. The El Camino had the body of an Impala with the Sedan pickup-truck back end and was one of the most iconic muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s. The seller notes that the rear end is fitted with replacement gearing.Known as the “business in the front, party in the back” vehicle to some, the classic Chevrolet El Camino combined both style and functionality in one vehicle. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. An aluminum radiator, dual electric fuel pumps, a replacement fuel tank, and a stainless-steel exhaust system and headers are also fitted. The 350ci V8 crate engine is said to have been rebuilt and installed under current ownership and is equipped with a Holley Sniper EFI system and a polished air cleaner. The five-digit odometer shows 3,900 miles, all of which were added under current ownership. A Holley Sniper EFI touchscreen controller provides ancillary readouts, and aftermarket gauges are mounted to the lower dashboard. The two-spoke steering wheel is worn and frames a 100-mph speedometer, a readout for fuel economy, and auxiliary gauges. The dashboard is cracked, and the seller notes that the air conditioning system does not work and that a replacement air compressor is installed. Discoloration on the seat upholstery and wires underneath the dashboard can be seen in the gallery. Amenities include a fold-down armrest, crank windows, three-point seatbelts, and a push-button radio. The split bench seat is trimmed in red vinyl upholstery and complemented by a color-keyed dashboard, carpeting, and door panels. The car is equipped with a factory air-adjustable rear suspension, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Rally-style 15″ wheels wear polished trim rings and center caps and are mounted with staggered-width BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Exterior details include chrome bumpers and trim as well as front bumper overriders, dual sport mirrors, side spears, and dual exhaust outlets. The body is finished in red with silver over-the-top stripes and is said to have been repainted approximately 10 years ago. This El Camino is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of their son with a clean Nevada title in the son’s name. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included replacing the fuel tank and radiator as well as installing dual electric fuel pumps, a stainless-steel exhaust system and headers, and higher rear-end gears. The car is finished in red with silver stripes over red vinyl upholstery and is equipped with a three-speed automatic transmission, chrome-finished trim, a Holley Sniper EFI system, power-assisted brakes, factory air-adjustable rear suspension, three-point seatbelts, and a push-button radio. This 1977 Chevrolet El Camino was acquired by the seller’s son in 2021 and subsequently fitted with a replacement 350ci V8. ![]()
